Welcome

One of the most powerful links you can get pointing back to your website is a good clean .edu backlinks from an authority website like a Government owned Education website (.edu or .edu.au).

.Edu and if you are from Australia .edu.au gives you a fantastic opportunity to push your websites ranking onto page one of Google, Yahoo and even MSN Bing. But depending on who you are talking too, some believe that these search engines take very little notice of .edu backlinks. I have my own opinion and I try to find .edu websites daily. It just stands to reason that if the major search engines are going to reward you for clean quality backlinks, why wouldn’t they reward you if they find that a few. edu websites have a backlink to your website.

.Edu Backlinks | Find These SEO Goldmines Yourself

Google, Yahoo and MSN/Bing love indexing backlinks from .edu websites. These 3 major search engines see Education websites as solid authority websites and .edu backlinks are a way to get great quality backlinks.

Education websites aren’t that hard to get a backlink on. It’s true! All you need to do is find .edu websites that have back doors which allow savvy webmasters like you and me to firstly find them and secondly, add a backlink to.

Anyway, EduBacklinks.com.au was brought about after I wrote about these fantastic backlinking opportunities at my WebSeo Blog. It was amazing how many webmasters wanted as much information they could find about it. So I thought I would give you a brief guide on how to find these rare but powerful links for yourself.

.edu links Bootcamp #1

The first thing to do is load up Google as we’re going to use a certain parameters (footprints) to sort through Google’s search results to find the .edu or .edu.au websites we want.

The first thing you want to do is to use the “site:” parameter. This allows us to find domains that end with .edu or .edu.au

Your Google search query will look something like this: site:.edu or site:.edu.au but thr results from this search will be very broad and not that helpful, what we need to do is add some more parameters.

.edu backlinks Bootcamp #2

Now we want to take this search further, so we are going to add some more parameters. So now we are going to use certain search footprints that you can use to find .edu or .edu.au domains that actually allow you to place links on.

Some examples are

:site:.edu inurl:forums – These are .edu Forums (Messageboards) that allow you to create profiles, which we can drop our backlinks on.

site:.edu inurl:wiki – These are .edu Wikipedia style sites, many allow you can create or edit pages.

site:.edu inurl:discussion – Usually will be a forum where you can post to.

.edu backlinks Bootcamp #3

We could take this further and also use footprints on the web sites themselves.

For example:
site:.edu “vbulletin” | site:.edu “powered by vbulletin” | site:.edu “powered by WordPress” | site:.edu “phpbb” | site:.edu ” powered by vbulletin” | site:.edu “invision power board” etc

.edu.au backlinks Bootcamp #4

The key here is to think of the types of content management system platforms that you can post on normally and then add the site:.edu or site:parameter to this search query. The more of these you can think of the more backlink opportunities you will find.

For all my Australian friends, you can add an .au after or .edu. So your sites will look like .edu.au

If all of this looks too complicated and you are happy with general results, we have developed a unique .edu search engine which we are more than happy for you to use. Look at the top righthand side of this webpage. Add a keyword phrase you want to find related websites to, select the type of edu domain you want and then click Search. The results are taken from Google.
